Peter Linksted's final year as an under-23 athlete coincided with him winning his first individual medal as he signed off 2023 in great form.
He powered to bronze in the C1 at the European Under-23 Championships in Bratislava, having began the event by winning gold in the C1 team event with James Kettle and Kurts Adams Rozentals.
Linksted has formed an impressive partnership with Kettle and Rozentals and, following their European success, they combined again later in 2023 to win silver at the World Under-23 Championships.
Linksted, who was long recognised by the Scottish Canoe Association as a talented young athlete, earned selection for the senior team for the first time in 2021 having been introduced to paddling by his father when he was eight.
