Following two days of racing at Lee Valley White Water Centre over the weekend (21/22 October), the canoe slalom international panel has confirmed the senior canoe slalom team that will represent British Canoeing during the 2024 season.
The 10-strong team has been confirmed to race World Cups 1, 2 and 3, as well as the European Championships in Tacen.

World Champion Joe Clarke MBE (Stafford & Stone) leads the way in the men's K1 after his most successful international season of his career during 2023. Winning a huge eight medals, Joe won his first K1 World title in front of a home crowd at the World Championships in Lee Valley. He made it a World Championships to remember as he also won his third consecutive kayak cross title on the London 2012 course.
He will be joined again by Jonny Dickson (CR Cats) who rounded off his senior debut season in 2023 with a silver medal at the World Cup Final in Paris. It was an impressive year for Jonny who claimed three finals in the World Cup series, including his first in Prague and the World Championships.
Chris Bowers (Stafford & Stone) completes the men's kayak line-up after a strong selection series at Lee Valley. The 25-year-old won the first two races on Saturday and backed that up with a second place on the final day of racing which saw him finish second behind Jonny and claim his spot.
Kimberley Woods (Rugby) and Mallory Franklin (Windsor & District) will once again be doubling up in the women's kayak and canoe after both reaching the podium on multiple occasions during the 2023 season.
Mallory claimed her second career World title in C1 as she powered to gold at the World Championships at Lee Valley, as well a further six medals across the season in both her C1 and K1, rounding off her campaign with C1 bronze in Paris.
Kimberley had an impressive 2023 season too as she won her first ever world title in kayak cross, which is set to make its Olympic debut next year. She won a huge four medals at the World Championships in Lee Valley as part of a total of eight, which also included C1 World silver.
Ellis Miller completes the women's canoe team as she is set to embark on her first full senior circuit. The Lee Valley paddler has plenty of experience in senior races, and claimed her first individual final at the World Cup in Tacen last year, as well as becoming a team World Champion alongside Kimberley and Mallory at Lee Valley this September.
Another athlete who will take on their first full senior experience is Lois Leaver (Edinburgh Schools) after a strong selection weekend. Lois achieved a personal best season at U23 level during 2023 and did gain some senior race exposure during the season, which will give her confidence for next season.
Adam Burgess (Stafford & Stone) headlines the men's canoe team after gaining maximum points during the weekend. It was a year of consistency from the Tokyo 2020 Olympian as he reached seven consecutive finals on the international stage including fifth place at the home World Championships.
Having experienced his first year on the senior team in 2023, James Kettle (Lee Valley) will be back again for 2024 after putting down some excellent performances during the selection series. James claimed a race victory on the final day to claim his place and will be looking to build on his debut year.
Peter Linksted (Stirling & Falkirk) completes the line-up as he regains his place on the senior team. Peter secured his first individual medal in 2023 as he won U23 bronze at the European Championships in Bratislava and will look to take this result into the senior racing after an impressive weekend during the selection process.
