The Performance Committee
The Performance Committee is a sub-committee of the Paddle UK Board. It has been established to support the Board in discharging its responsibilities in relation to elite performance within the Olympic, Paralympic and Non-Olympic disciplines and the England Talent Programme.
The Committee consists of an independent director of Paddle UK who acts as Chair, up to two independent individuals with relevant elite sport experience who are co-opted by the Performance Committee and up to two executive BC staff members who shall normally be the CEO and Director of Paddlesport. Other members are invited inline with agenda items per meeting.
The Performance Committee’s responsibilities include:
- Scrutinising and approving Sprint, Slalom and Paracanoe selection policies and World Class Programme qualification policies.
- Reviewing and seeking assurances around the feedback from the annual Culture Feedback Survey.
- Overseeing the development and implementation strategies across all Olympic, Talent and Non-Olympic Disciplines.
- Receiving reports on and providing oversight of risks relevant to Olympic, Talent and Non-Olympic Disciplines, and
- Receiving Performance Wellbeing Group and Athlete Representative Group reports.

Performance Well-being Group
The Performance Well-being Group has been established to support the role of Paddle UK (British Canoeing) in its work to develop and deliver appropriate policies and practices around matters of athlete, staff and volunteer welfare within its performance and talent development programmes.

Athlete Rep Group
The Athlete Rep Group provides a forum for athletes to share their feedback on matters of interest and concern in relation to all aspects of the Performance programme. It provides athletes with a mechanism for ensuring their views on important matters are heard and communicated to the senior leadership team.
