Great Britain will have a shot at further medals after a day of sprint heats in round four of the ICF Wildwater Canoeing World Cup in Italy.
Freddie Brown made it through to Saturday's final in the men's K1, while Kerry Christie also booked her place among the 15 qualifiers for the women's K1 final.
And Britain will have two boats in the women's canoe double final after the pairs Emma and Kerry Christie, and Laura Milne with Mags Dilai made it through.
“The river was rising all day so the lines were slightly different for the second run which made it a challenge for everyone, but it was good,” said Great Britain team manager Jamie Christie.
“It was really pleasing to see Freddie into the final – that was a really good result for him.
“That's two World Cup finals he's made now which will be very good for his confidence.
“It was a shame that Nick (Boreham) and Andrew (Crowhurst) didn't make their finals.
“They were so close and it would have been amazing if they had.”
After picking up two medals in the classic races, Friday was a day for the GB sprinters to show their worth.
Extremely high water levels on the Noce River at Mezzana made for the toughest of challenges over the longer classic course on Thursday.
And racing was delayed by half-an-hour on Friday morning for a last-minute change to the sprint course before the action opened up with the women's kayak sprint (K1).
With the top five automatically going through from heat one and the top 10 from heat two, many of the British paddlers chose to keep their powder dry and save energy for the second run.
Kerry Christie, who grabbed sprint bronze in Veles six days ago, was fastest British paddler down in the opening heat in a time of 45.34secs which gave her 11th place in the 20-strong field.
Emma Christie posted a time of 47.89secs for 17th, with Laura Milne two places back after stopping the clock in 48.63.
Kerry went slower in the second heat – clocking 46.27 – but her first heat time remained good enough to finish 13th overall and secure one of the 15 qualifying berths for the final.
Laura put down a terrific second run, shaving more than a second off her previous time to cross the finish line in 47.58.
She remained in the top 10 with two paddlers left to go, but had to settle for 12th.
Emma also went quicker second time around, finishing just a tenth-of-a-second outside Laura's time to finish 13th in heat two.
For the second day running, Freddie Brown was the fastest British paddler, this time in both heats of the men's kayak sprint.
In heat one, the Wiltshire paddler crossed the line in 41.81secs which left him in 20th.
A solid run allowed Jacob Holmes (42.66) to pip team-mate Nick Boreham (42.78) as second-quickest Brit in heat one, finishing 24th and 26th overall, while Rob Jefferies was a further place back, crossing the line in 43.15.
Freddie then took 1.3secs off his earlier time to post a brilliant 40.51 in heat two – the eighth-quickest time – and secure a spot in Sunday's final.
Nick took more than one-and-a-half seconds off his earlier mark, crossing the line in 41.13, as he bid for one of the 10 qualifying spots from heat two.
He remained in 10th place with one paddler to go, but was agonisingly bumped out of the top 10 by Belgium's Leo Montulet.
Jacob took almost a full second off his earlier time, posting 41.70 to finish 18th-quickest in heat two, while Rob Jefferies also improved his time to 42.37 for 21st.
In the men's canoe, sole British paddler Andrew Crowhurst put down a good run in heat one to finish 15th in a time of 46.97.
With just seven final places remaining up for grabs in heat two, Andrew went almost 1.3secs quicker, crossing the line in 45.70.
It ultimately left him eighth, just one position away from a place in the final.
Emma and Kerry Christie qualified second-fastest in the women's canoe double heat.
They raced down the course in 51.27 seconds, eclipsing the time of Czech pacesetters Anna Vikova and Janna Strilicova.
But final runners Eve Vitali-Guilbert and Elsa Gaubert, of France, set a scorching time of 48.25.
Mags Dilai and Laura Milne eased into Saturday's final, fourth-quickest in 54.54secs.
