Katie Reid and Emily Lewis put in spirited performances as the duo rounded off the canoe sprint World Cup in Szeged, Hungary
Having battled well in the early morning semi-final, Reid (Forth) was back on the water to contest the B Final of the women's C1 200m.
The Tokyo Olympian then went on to produce her best run of the week, getting a great start out of the bucket to fight amongst the top of the pack
There wasn’t much in it between the top boats as Reid went on to finish fifth in 47.27, securing 14th overall.
Happy to finish on a strong performance, Reid said:
“It's been a long five days and a lot of emotions, but I'm glad to finish on a great performance.
“They've all been good runs to be fair, and it's been building through each one. I'm really happy with it.
“I've been hitting my fastest times ever in racing so I can't ask much more than that.
“It's a shame I didn't make the Games, but I'm proud of processing that quickly and getting back out there and hitting the World Cup really hard.”
After winning an impressive bronze in the women's K1 200m yesterday, Emily Lewis (Worcester) was back in action as she took on the 500m.
It was a battling performance from Emily as she sat second at the halfway stage of the C Final, but couldn't maintain her pace at the top of the field as she clocked 1:52.76 to place eighth.
