Paddle UK hosted a team of cyclists, including Chris Boardman, the former Olympic champion and chair of Sport England, as part of Pedal for Paris.
The Sport England challenge is aiming to highlight inspirational and innovative organisations in England that are working to become environmentally sustainable.
Paddle UK staff and athletes welcomed the team on the second day of their cycle from Manchester to the Paris Olympics.
Sport organisations have been urged to sign Sport England's ‘Going for Green' pledge which sits alongside the campaign.
Chris Boardman had some complimentary words to say about Paddle UK.
“First question for me was, who’s leading the way [in environmental sustainability]?
“Paddle UK was top of the list.
“It's really important that people have to believe it's doable and [Paddle UK] are doing it.”
The team arrived at National Watersports Centre at about 12:00, on Wednesday 17 July.
They conducted some water quality testing and chatted with Paddle UK staff and the Paracanoe team, about the Clear Access, Clear Waters campaign.
Emma Wiggs MBE and Rob Oliver were also interviewed live on the BBC News channel about our environmental sustainability work and the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Chris Boardman was also keen to get out on the water to try a spot of kayaking.
Other stops include Loughborough University, the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes, Bisham Abbey and the Redgrave Pinsent Rowing Lake in Caversham.
They are expected to arrive in Paris on 23 July
