With just a few days left until registration closes for 2024 selections, the Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe International Panel and the Canoe Slalom & Kayak Cross International Panel have published important information and policy updates ahead of the season.
Firstly the updates draw the attention of paddlers, to the need to register for selection by the approaching deadlines as well as entering for the appropriate event(s).
The Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe IP statement also publishes the selection criteria for the 2024 senior canoe sprint world championships in late August and also although not directly part of the IP’s remit, more information for those eligible for the FISU university world championships.
The Canoe Slalom & Kayak Cross IP also publishes some important policy updates which include an amendment to the final stage of the 2024 Olympic selection policy and a clarification to the 2024 senior team selection policy following a recently announced rule change by the European Canoe Association.
Both International Panels strongly encourage athletes, coaches, parents and guardians to read the policies in full ahead of any selection race to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the selection process. Both policies can be downloaded below.
