AquaPaddle is a free 5km, timed social paddle, similar in concept to Parkrun, but for all paddlers, meaning kayak, canoes and boards are all welcome in the same event.
Its aim is to build a movement to help to support the charity with donations and other fund raising, whilst giving all paddlers a regular focus to their paddling.
These are FREE Events, however, we do ask for donations from those who can, to help to support the charity.
It’s been a long time coming, but we’re looking to run our Pilot event on Sunday 5th May, 2024. The start time is pencilled in for 9:30 (to avoid traffic jams with the canoe club), with a paddler briefing at 9:15. The meeting point is the free carpark at Newton Park, next to Burton Canoe Club. The course is 5km in total, heading upstream through Stapenhill for 2.5km, and then back. The river levels are still very variable, so we’ll be monitoring the levels closely. We’ll be checking the gauges on Saturday evening, with a final eyeball confirmation on Sunday morning.
The cancellation policy for this event is the responsibility of the organiser. Please use the contacts for this to request details.
