Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe IP appointment

Paddle UK has appointed Rachel Lovell to the Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe International Panel.

Rachel’s appointment was confirmed at the April Board meeting, following the recommendations of the IP recruitment panel, led by Paddle UK's Senior Independent Director Richard Boreham and including SRC Chair Nick Fowler and Performance Committee member Peter Gorman.

Rachel raced internationally from the age of 14, after taking up the sport at seven-years-old. She went on to represent Australia at the 2012 Olympic Games, in London, in the women's K4 500m.

Rachel has coached for Queensland Coaching Australia and, since moving back to the UK, has been involved at a club level for Worcester and as part of the Junior Development Squad Programme.

She has been a member of the Marathon Racing Committee too.

Recruitment for one more independent member to the International Panel has also begun.

There remains a vacancy for one independent member on the International panel and applications are welcomed to fulfil the role.
