Paddle UK has delivered a number of international events in the UK to showcase the sport on the biggest stage. These events include:
- Lee Valley White Water Centre, built for the London 2012 Olympic Games, played host to the 2015 and 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, and a 2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup event.
- The 2023 World Championships was the Slalom team's most successful ever Championships, with four World Champions, eight medals and four quota places secured for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on home soil.
- The National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham hosted the 2022 ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships. The event attracted large crowds and teams across the world, with the GB team winning nine medals, Ottilie Robinson-Shaw securing a hat-trick of World Championship titles.
Bids to the International Canoe Federation and the European Canoe Association for these major international events are managed by British Canoeing Events (BCE) Limited, Company Number 11706573.
BCE is a wholly owned subsidiary company of British Canoeing established, in 2018, with the purpose of developing and delivering an international events strategy in line with our strategic plan. It is also responsible for the organising and running of key international events.
