Paddle UK is giving our members the opportunity to apply for a Big Paddle Cleanup kit.
The Big Paddle Cleanup is coming soon (25 May to 9 June) in a bid to improve our precious blue places.
In 2023, over 2,600 paddlers took part in a bid to clear their local waterways of junk and plastic pollution, while raising more public awareness of the issue.
About 1,800 huge sacks were filled containing 6,767 plastic bottles, 2,739 glass bottles, 4,403 cans and 7,682 food packaging items.
We have a number of kits available for Paddle UK members, clubs and community groups.

One person keen to take part is kayaker Roy Beal who set up the Clean Jurassic Coast CIC to raise awareness of the impact of litter on the World Heritage site.
Roy was presented with a Keep Britain Tidy Shining Star award for going above and beyond to tackle litter.
He has been helping get old fishing gear ready for recycling as part of Keep Britain Tidy's Ocean Recovery Project, which operates the only fully UK-based fishing net recycling scheme.
He said: “As a beach cleaner, I’m fortunate enough to spend many hours on our local beaches, connecting with nature.
“Volunteering has made me a lot of friends along the way, it gives purpose and pride knowing I’m doing something positive for the environment, and it’s also been fantastic for my mental health and fitness.”
The Big Paddle Cleanup is part of the Clear Access, Clear Waters. The campaign wants to see the waterways of England and Wales open for all to access for sustainable recreational pursuits.
