Thomas Lusty has been competing internationally in canoe sprint for nearly a decade, predominantly racing the K1 500m and K1 1000m.
Most recently, Lusty finished sixth in the men’s K1 500m final at the 2023 Szeged World Cup. He was also part of the men’s K4 500m crew during 2022, helping them reach the B final at their first World Championships together.
Lusty is also a building services engineering consultant, based in Solihull, and fits training and competition around his work.
Aside from the elite level side of the sport, Lusty has a passion for the environment. He is regularly involved in cleaning up his local waterways, getting his work colleagues involved in initiatives like the Big Paddle Clean Up.
