Katie Reid made her Olympic debut in Tokyo, racing in the women's C1 200m event which was appearing for the first time on the Games schedule in Japan.
She reached the quarter-finals in Tokyo and has since been racing in the women's C2 with Beth Gill. In 2023, the pair finished sixth in the B final at the World Championships in Duisburg and reached the semi-finals at the European Games in Krakow.
Reid enjoyed a strong start to the 2021 season, coming third in the European Olympic Qualifier, while she also has a bronze medal to her name after coming third in the 2018 World Cup in Duisburg.
She was introduced to canoeing through UK Sport's London 2012 legacy talent identification programme Girls4Gold. After just over a year, Reid was selected to compete at the 2015 World Under-23 Championships.
Reid was an accomplished Scottish karate champion before transitioning to canoeing.
