Etienne Chappell has enjoyed plenty of global success since making his international debut at the World Junior Championships in Bratislava in 2017.
Having first joined the World Class Programme in 2018, his international highlights include winning kayak cross gold in front of a home crowd at the Lee Valley World Cup in 2019. He would follow that up with gold again at the German leg of the World Cup less than three months later.
Also in 2019, Chappell would claim double gold at the World Junior Championships and win the Carwyn James Young Sportsman prize at the BBC Cymru Wales Sport Awards.
Chappell's other age-group highlights include kayak cross silver at the World Under-23 Championships and kayak team bronze at the European Under-23 Championships, both in 2022.
He was part of the senior British team that competed at their home World Championships at Lee Valley in 2023, narrowly missing out on a place in the kayak cross semi-finals.
