Emily Lewis made her Olympic Games debut in Tokyo, earning selection for Team GB for both the K1 200m and K1 500m. She agonisingly missed out on a place in the semi-finals of K1 200m, finishing just 0.005 seconds off the top two spots needed to progress. She also reached the quarter-finals in the K1 500m.
Since Tokyo, Lewis has formed part of the British women's K4 500m team, which has secured a number of consecutive A finals over the last two years. She pulled on the Team GB vest again at the 2023 European Games in Krakow, where alongside Rebii Simon, Emma Russell and Deborah Kerr, they placed eighth. Lewis also competed at the inaugural European Games in Baku in 2015.
A European junior K1 200m bronze medallist, Lewis was part of Team GB's Ambition Programme for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She has also trained under Olympic canoe sprint champion from Rio 2016 Liam Heath.
