Beth Gill is a prominent paddler in both canoe sprint and canoe marathon, becoming a world champion in the latter in 2022.
It is canoe sprint, and the women's C2 500m event, where Gill's most recent focus has been, racing alongside Katie Reid in 2023. Together the pair finished sixth in the B final at the World Championships in Duisburg and reached the semi-finals at the European Games in Krakow.
In 2022 Gill doubled up with Afton Fitzhenry in the women’s C2 500m, finishing sixth at the multi-sport European Championships in Munich. They also paddled at the World Championships in Canada, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.
Gill is also hugely successful in the canoe marathon discipline. Alongside her other exploits in 2022, she became C1 short course world champion in Portugal.
Gill was a keen hockey player, playing at an international level before transitioning to canoeing following selection for UK Sport's London 2012 legacy talent identification programme Girls4Gold.
