Arina Kontchakov has made a real impact on the junior international stage following her breakthrough into the British team in 2022.
She made her debut at the World Junior Championships in Italy that year, which acted as a springboard to winning kayak cross bronze a month later at the European Junior Championships.
Fast forward to 2023 and Kontchakov would reach the podium again at the European Junior Championships, claiming silver in the canoe team event with Zoe Blythe-Shields and Aimee Collins. She would also qualify for her first World Junior Championship final, finishing ninth in the C1 in Krakow.
